With rising competition and availability of various food options, the Indian food segment is on a path of constant exploration and demand for newer and sustainable models. “The Indian market is open to international food choices now. India is very rich in its culinary history which we think we can infuse in our unique concept,” says Armee M Lanto, International Franchise Marketing Head, Kerrimo.

According to Edmund T Lanto, President and CEO, Kerrimo, they are the only player with such a unique packaging concept in the food industry in India. “We hope that the Indian market, especially the younger generation, will appreciate it.” The company is also keen on developing and offering healthy food options as well as fruit shakes and tea in India.

FRANCHISE STRATEGY

Kerrimo has partnered with FranGlobal to identify the master franchisee that will open its own outlets as well as appoint unit franchise partners. While basic business experience is a must, according to Armee, “We are looking for individuals who have passion and dedication to develop the brand and move to a higher level.” Venus Barak, CEO, FranGlobal mentions that Kerrimo will have surely experience huge acceptance in India considering the small store format and easy-to-consume products, which could be a great hit at cinemas, metro stations, railway stations, airports and local markets. For a unit franchise, the start-up investment will be between USD 20,000-25,000, highlights Edmund.

EXPANSION PLANS

To start with, the company is focusing on metro cities including Delhi-NCR, Mumbai and Bengaluru. Revealing the brand’s future plans, Armee adds, “In the next five years, we plan to cover all the metro locations with over 100 outlets pan-India.”
