LITTLE LAUREATES STRIDES INTO THE BIG DOMAIN

Filling the gap that exists in the organised and affordable schooling system, Little Laureates has emerged as a pioneer of digitally enabled ‘smart class’ in the preschool segment

LITTLE LAUREATES STRIDES INTO THE BIG DOMAIN

Over the past one decade, parents have increasingly become aware of the positive impact of quality education from early childhood. Inputs given at the early stage help in developing language, cognitive and motor skills in the evolving mind of a child. This has created a huge opportunity in the preschool education segment as well as for the founders of Little Laureates. After experimenting for four years with the concept of preschool, Tamal Mukherjee created a chain of affordable schools with carefully crafted, digital-oriented curriculum. This was in view of the fact that most non-metro cities and district towns in the eastern part of India lack such facilities.

Right from its inception the school has witnessed an overwhelming response, thereby leading to the quick expansion of the Little Laureate chain of preschools in West Bengal and Tripura with a present count of 84 centres in the region.

Elaborating about their business philosophy, Mukherjee says, “Little Laureates aims to nurture young minds by providing ample opportunities to play, learn and grow in a dynamic and culturally rich environment. We want to impart holistic education, keeping in mind that every child is unique and learns differently.” The long-term vision of the school is to build an education model that will make it one of the best playschool models in West Bengal, making quality education accessible to all from the grassroot level to the topmost sections of the society.

FRANCHISE OVERVIEW

Talking about the company’s expansion plans, Mukherjee shares, “In the next two years we will add another 80 centres of Little Laureates in West Bengal and open centres in the district towns of Bihar, Jharkhand and Orissa. Our goal is to mark our presence in 250 locations in the eastern region of the country.” Mukherjee believes franchising is a powerful way to expand business. “Once you have experienced success with your brand and are considering broadening your market, franchising may be the next logical step for you,” he opines. For them, a franchise partner must have a passion for education along with good reputation and a minimum five years of experience in managing a reputed brand’s franchise.
