Skilling is an important wheel of the economy for both developing and developed nations. Skilled workforce is a necessity and due to globalisation, it is required to maintain the quality of the products and services to stand out in the competitive market. In this respect, what gains importance is the Skill India campaign launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, aiming to train over 40 crore people in India in different skills by 2022. But while it is moving ahead in its own well-defined strategic way to meet the workforce demand of the industry, there are certain gaps that have surfaced on account of a variety of reasons.
Taking into account such lapses, AITMC has taken an initiative to offer skill courses to rural and semi-urban students under the paid model. It has chosen courses like photography, beauty care, culinary art, fashion designing, domestic solar product installations, repair of home appliances and career counselling since the market segments for such fields are growing on account of disruptive technological advancements.
The company has tied up with financial institutions and banks to help students secure loans to pay their tuition fees. Up to 75% of the tuition fee is payable through loans with the balance paid by the student.
