Little Elly is the brainchild of Bangalore-based husband wife duo who started their preschool chain with an aim to revolutionise the education industry by offering everything under one roof. Preeti Bhandary, the leading lady at Little Elly had love and passion for teaching, and started her career in early education as a kindergarten teacher. Considering her years of expertise and forte in teaching profession, her husband Vittal Bhandary decided to venture into education business along with her and launched Salmiya Playschool in Kuwait way back in 2000. Later, the couple returned to India and established their preschool with the name of “Little Elly Preschool” in the year 2004. In the year 2005, Little Elly collaborated with Glen Tree UK for providing technical and curriculum inputs and support. To have a larger presence in the pre-school space and to provide a greater thrust in reaching out to the community, the founders formed a new company M/s Learning Edge India Private Limited.
The company started with three preschools in 2005 and established their first franchise school in 2008.

The brand is currently operational in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune, Surat, Mangalore, Mysore, Coimbatore, Bhopal and Navi Mumbai.
In future, the brand is aiming for pan India with 30 more centres in current year. As far as international expansion is concerned, the brand is looking to expand in Middle East.
