His conversation was peppered with references to how he made his entrepreneurial journey via developing residential colonies in Zirakpur a success story. Read on to know his entrepreneurial voyage and his future plans to make Zirakpur an upcoming hub for retailers by opening RBC (Raksha Business Centre).
Discuss in brief your entrepreneurial journey.
We began our journey in the year 2001 as a construction group. With an expertise in the construction business, now the N.K. Sharma Group is one of the renowned construction companies in Chandigarh, Mohali and Zirakpur. The brand is the first construction group to be approved by PUDA (Punjab Urban Planning & Development Authority Association). Our brand is built on a strong lineage and has an established reputation, has been a trendsetter in contemporary urban development and housing projects.
After achieving success in residential projects, why did you make a foray in a retail project?
We have delivered couple of residential projects successfully. With a long list of these incredible projects, we have been constantly breaking grounds and forging ahead as the best-known urban housing group across Zirakpur.
With passing of several years, we witnessed a dynamic transformation in the lifestyle of the people and found ourselves lucky to have played a constructive role in this colossal evolution and re-wrote the rules of graceful living through our projects. One after the other we came up with wide range of homes from apartments, plots to villas at premier location in Zirakpur and Mohali.
Also being the MLA, Zirakpur, Punjab, I wanted to give best to my constituency, therefore first I catered to the residential needs and now looking at the retail gap , we are coming up with Raksha Business Centre.

We have successfully delivered a couple of projects. Following are the details about each one of them
Defence Enclave, Zirakpur
Savitry Defence Enclave is a magnificent(PUDA approved) Group Housing Complex spread over an area of 10 acre. It is strategically located where every inch of each apartment is planned to enhance the joy of living. It is located on Chandigarh-Patiala highway, Zirakpur.
Sunrise Complex, Zirakpur: Sunrise Complex has 100 per cent occupancy and successful deliverance, this Group Housing Complex is located on V.I.P Road, Zirakpur.
Savitry Enclave, Zirakpur: Savitry Enclave has also 100 per cent occupancy. This complex offers luxurious (PUDA approved) independent row houses nestled in lush green locale on V.I.P Road, Zirakpur.
Savitry Towers: Savitry Towers is built on a expansive campus of five acre, this (PUDA approved) Group housing complex, located on VIP Road, Zirakpur. With success deliverance of this group housing complex, it represents an entity of lifestyle that is engrossing in its true sense.
Besides all the above mentioned deliverables, we also have under our brand umbrella, delivered projects like Savitry Apartments, Zirakpur and Savitry Independent Duplex, Zirakpur.
A word on your ongoing projects.
In residential arena, we are making Savitry Greens, Zirakpur. Savitry Greens redefines new age lifestyle with its architectural splendour, aesthetic design and rich ambience, complex with all state-of-the art amenities. Rising within a stretch of 22 acers of2/3/4BHK apartments of various sizes. A host of other projects in our kitty are Savitry Greens 2 ,Zirakpur, Savitry Heights, Mohali and Presidential Towers in Zirakpur.
What led to RBC’s inception?
RBC is a purely retail initiative by NK Sharma Group. It is strategically located on Delhi-Ambala-Chandigarh highway. The inception of RBC took place two years back keeping in mind the one and a half lakh population of the town. After developing the township, there was a dire need of a retail complex that serves the Zirakpur population. RBC's architecture is made keeping in mind the highway traffic and parking need. Also we have kept the structure such, which will incorporate a five star, office spaces and independent retail stores. I hope it will match up with the fastest growing business needs in Zirakpur and its surroundings.
RBC Project has government certification, including environment clearance. To offer the local residents all facilities under one roof, RBC was launched.
At RBC, who will be your potential partners? Which all business brands or retailers are you targeting?
We are open to all kind of brands and retailers. We would like to partner with Retail and F&B franchisors as there is a lot of opportunity to serve more than one and a half lakh of local residents here. Exclusive retail brands catering to traditional men's, women's and kids wear. We have a food court too; therefore F&B franchise brands that are keen to be part of small format stores are welcomed.
Where do you see Zirakpur five years down the line?
There is a lot of potential I see in Zirakpur. I have witnessed a sea change in last five years and in coming five years I visualise Zirakpur as a well equipped town with all high class retail, residential and educational facilities.
