Rajshekhar L, the 34 year old Master Franchisee for UniverCell has now become a major strength and a proud aspect for the brand in The Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
The young franchisee spoke to TFW's Ekta Sharma Verma on his dreams and graph for the brand.
Share something about your entrepreneurial voyage.
I hail from Salem, Tamil Nadu. My father had moved to The Andaman and Nicobar Islands many years ago. Before joining UniverCell as a Master Franchisee, I was working for a private organisation. I always had a dream to run store of a well-known brand. After coming here I explored many options in the telecommunications sector. I finally landed up taking franchise rights for UniverCell Telecommunications which is the most admired brand here. Via franchise path, my vision was always to grow faster with strong support of a reputed brand.
What is the most important element to be a successful franchise? And how long you have been associated with the brand?
It's been five years of association with UniverCell. In the last five years, I have given 3-4 times business to the brand. I think hard work to achieve your dreams is most important. So, far the journey has been fabulous with immense support from the brand.
Where do you see yourself five years down the line?
I see myself growing further with UniverCell. I dream to own 2-3 more stores here. People here believe in buying UniverCell in spite of so many options. This makes me proud and work harder for the store.
What kind of training and support does your franchisor offer you?
The franchisees are given complete support in terms of technical, marketing and other aspects. I was given complete training in Chennai before joining but now also, from time to time, almost every month as per the requirement franchisees are trained online too. Whenever we need support from the head office, we get much more than expected.
What is the best thing about your franchisor and the brand?
My brand always gives me freedom. For the store, not just in festive time but excellent offers are given round the year which makes a store run successfully. My franchisor support made me do exceptionally well. The delivery, orders and other tasks are made very simple.
Any advice to budding entrepreneurs?
Youngsters can without doubts invest in UniverCell. Own a franchise store as the brand offers every possible support. You always get a decent margin and in the long run the mobile industry will grow that makes it an excellent option to invest in.
