The JD Institute of Fashion Technology - education division of JD Image Promotions Ltd; was established in the year 1988 in Mumbai, with a small group of fashion industry professionals and like-minded people. With a vision to offer fashion as one of the streams of education, the brand overcame the biggest challenge at that time of introducing fashion designing as a career. JD Institute of Fashion Technology was initiated by Chandrakant Dalal while RC Dalal infused awareness about designing in clothing.

Benefits of franchising

JD Institute of Fashion Technology started franchising in the year 1997. When the institute began its operations in Mumbai, it continually received student inquiries from different parts of India. Sensing the need to be present in some industrial and important cities, the brand decided to expand via franchising.

Franchising helped the institute expand quickly and reach various cities and towns through the country, emphasizing on quality of education, various industry-oriented programs and overall growth of fashion and design.

At present, the institute has 29 campuses across India and one international campus in Central London, UK. It also boasts of technical collaboration with Kuvempu University of Karnataka. The brand offers complete support and training to its partners, at all three different levels i.e. launch, academics and evaluation (examinations).

Lessons to succeed

JD Institute of Fashion Technology takes pride in nurturing many celebrity designers like Rocky S and Dhiraj Deka. With Rohit Bal as its mentor, the brand is all set to strengthen its presence in the world of fashion. It is also diversifying with the launch of JD Institute of Beauty Sciences. The brand, having a pan India approach, will soon be opening centers in Punjab, Gujarat and Kolkata.
