They may be well-qualified, but due to long working hours in corporate companies and to give required attention or time to their families, they may not be able to pursue their careers. So, this will be the best business for them.” Incidentally, out of 70+ centres, 95 per cent are under the aegis of women franchisees. So, what kind of special programmes does a brand offers to its growing tribe of women franchisees? A.S. Ganesh says: “Our brand provides centre head training and orientation programmes, which will be beneficial for them to understand about child's psychology. This will help them to rear their children in a better way and run the centre successfully. We also conduct positive parenting workshops in all our centres which has been well appreciated and accepted by parents.”
Expansion via the franchise format has been on the radar of SMARTKiDZ. The company started its operation with 10 centres in Andhra Pradesh in 2008. But within three years it has grown to 70+ centres with its substantial presence across six states in India. The brand is now mulling to double its footprint to several other states and plans to mark century by mid 2012.
