Every year, around 15,000 students benefit from the courses offered by Matrusri. In an effort to impart technology-aided quality education to all, Matrusri E-Power, a part of Matrusri Group, is embarking on an expansion spree. Aravind Kapatkar shares the franchise growth of the company.

What led to the inception of Matrusri E-Power?

Matrusri is in the field of education for the last two decades. The various segments include School Education, Publication, Audio-Visual Teaching Content Development, Online Education, Curriculum and Text Books Development, Career Building From High School Phase (IIT/Medicine/IAS foundation), IIT, AIEEE, Medicine and Engg Entrance in +2 phase, Technological empowerment for modern classroom teaching in the form of elite class room, teacher empowerment, etc.

What are the courses offered and their durations?

The different courses at our centre under the foundation segment are IIT/Medicine, Math Olympiad, NTSE, IAS Foundation and IIT Package.

In how many cities are you currently present?

We are there in 11 cities across India under the IIT Foundation segment outside Andhra Pradesh. In Andhra Pradesh, we are present in 25 cities.

Why do you plan to expand via franchising?

We want to expand via franchisees to duplicate our success strategy in other states. Matrusri had launched IIT Foundation for the first time in India. Later on, IIT Foundation programme was promoted all over Andhra Pradesh in the form of combined package of textbooks for student and visual-aided teaching system for teachers. This resulted in preparation of IIT by the students of Andhra Pradesh right from Class VIII onwards. Thus, Matrusri IIT Foundation programme played an important role in making Andhra Pradesh a number one state in IIT/JEE results.

How many centres do you plan to open in the next three years?

To open over 100 centres, we are looking at all major cites in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chhattisgarh, Assam and Bihar.
