We provide specialised physiotherapy for the spine. We also provide ergonomic products such as specialised office chair, memory foam mattresses, lumbar supports, belts and so on.

Physiotherapy is the first thing you should do if you ever experience any spine problem. Unless ignored for a long time, most cases are curable.

Currently, we have three centres in Mumbai. We would like to expand the brand from city to city. At first, we will enter all major metropolitan cities and then move into the Tier II cities.

What kind of training and support a franchisee and his staff will get?

All physiotherapists will have advance training in techniques that we use in Back Rx. Routine group training will also be carried out on a monthly basis. Sales training will be provided to sales staff along with indebt knowledge about the spine.

What kind of help Back Rx gets from your New York associates?

Most technical knowledge comes from our New York associates. Dr Vijay Vad helps to design the products and has already patented some of his own designs, which we sell. Dr Monica Joshi, who is a physiotherapist in New York, has trained our physiotherapists in new techniques, which aren’t regularly practiced in India.

How many franchisees are you targeting by 2010?

By the end of 2010, we should have around 10-15 franchisees. By then, we would have covered all parts of Mumbai and start to establish ourselves in the next metropolitan city.

What kind of investment a franchisee has to make while opening a Back Rx centre?

A franchisee has to invest in the interior, stock for display and physiotherapy equipment. A franchisee would have to invest approximately Rs 15 lakh initially. The average size of a centre would be 900 sq ft carpet area.
