Incorporated in 1925, Raymond has business interests in fabrics, readymade garments, designer wear, denim, cosmetics and toiletries, engineering files and tools, prophylactics and air charter operations.

An innovator in the Indian textile industry, Raymond has mastered the craft of producing the finest suiting in the world using wool from 80s to 230s count, blends with superfine polyester and other specialty fibres, like cashmere, angora, alpaca, silk, linen, etc. The company exports its suiting fabric to more than 55 countries including USA, Canada, Europe, Japan and the Middle East.

Raymond Apparel Limited

A 100 per cent subsidiary, Raymond Apparel Ltd (RAL) has some of the most highly regarded menswear brands in its folio-premium formalwear brand, Park Avenue, premium smart casual wear brand, ColorPlus, Parx, outdoor lifestyle brand and Manzoni, the luxury lifestyle brand, are acknowledged for its high quality and international styling.

Also included in the RAL folio is designer brand Be: housing designs of some of the finest Indian designers and the Be: Inhouse label. Be: features designs from leading Indian designers like Krishna Mehta, Wendell Rodricks, Magnetic Rag by Gauri & Nainika, Priyadarshini Rao, Rohit Bal, Vidhi Singhania, Anshu Arora Sen.

Raymond has announced its entry into the children's apparel segment with the introduction of its kids wear brand, 'ZAPP!' which will cover the spectrum of children's lifestyle products - apparel and accessories targeted at kids between the age group 4 to 12 years. It plans to set up around 12 'ZAPP!' stores across key metros in India over the next one year. These stores will be large format flagship stores, estimated to be around 3,000 to 4,000 sq.ft in size.

J K Helene Curtis Ltd

J K Helene Curtis is in the business of marketing men's cosmetics and toiletries under the Park Avenue and Premium brands.

Raymond design studio

Raymond Ltd is setting up a Design Studio in the fashion capital of the world - Italy. This design studio would be a 60-40 joint venture between Raymond and Gruppo Zambaiti, Italy. The Studio will provide Raymond with strategic, cutting edge design capabilities for all its textile and apparel businesses and would be set up over next 2-3 months near Milan.

Retail presence

The Raymond Shop (TRS) is a network of over 320 exclusive retail shops in more than 135 cities, with around eight lakh sq. ft of retail space. There are 26 retail stores spread across the countries in the Indian sub-continent and Middle-East.

TRS is an exclusive outlet for the Raymond range of fabrics and the apparel brands Park Avenue, Parx, Manzoni and ColorPlus. TRS also retails the accessories and toiletries sold under the Park Avenue and Premium brands.

The company's retail presence also comprises of more than 20,000 MBOs across the country.

Future plans

Keeping in mind the changing shopping habits of today's consumer, and the booming retail sector, Raymond is now making conscious efforts to move onto larger format stores such as malls.

The company is currently in the process of expanding its retail presence with around 50,000 sq.ft of retail space a year by adding about 20 Raymond shops per year. In addition, there are also plans to launch about 22 exclusive stores for its fabric and apparel brands by the end of this financial year.

New Ventures

Silver Spark Apparel Ltd

Silver Spark Apparel Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary of Raymond Limited. This state-of-the-art manufacturing plant marks Raymond Group's foray into the global apparel outsourcing market. Set-up at a total project cost of Rs. 42.5 crore, the specialty of the plant is the superior construction of the jacket, which is in line with Italian and Japanese quality levels, which are known for best quality jackets in the world.

EverBlue Apparel Limited

Raymond has set up a state-of-the art jeanswear facility 'Everblue Apparel Ltd' in Dodaballapur, near Bangalore. The company has set up the Everblue plant as forward integration of its denim fabric division, offering a complete solution to its customers for jeanswear at a total project cost of Rs 45 crore.

Celebrations Apparel Limited

This is a new facility in Bangalore and has been set-up for the manufacture of formal shirts. With a capacity of 3,000 shirts per day and a total project cost of Rs14 crore the project has been set up in technical collaboration with Japanese shirt manufacturing company, Flex Japan Co. Ltd.

Raymond Zambaiti Ltd

Raymond has set up a Greenfield Facility in Kolhapur for manufacturing high value cotton shirting fabrics. Raymond Zambaiti Ltd is a Rs. 206 crore 50:50 JV with Cotonificio Honegger S.p.A., part of Gruppo Zambaiti for the manufacture and marketing of high value-added cotton shirting fabrics.

Raymond Fedora Ltd

In June 2005 Raymond Limited announced their joint venture with Lanificio Fedora, Italy; a leading woolen fabric manufacturer. This 50-50 JV, costing Rs 40 crore, was to strengthen the Carded Woolen Business like blankets, shawls and jacketing amongst others.
