Xiaomi Corporation, a global leader in smartphones and consumer electronics, has taken another major step into the automotive industry with the launch of its first electric SUV, the YU7. Following the success of its debut electric sedan, the SU7, the YU7 marks Xiaomi's second EV offering and targets the premium SUV market. The YU7 is available in three configurations—Standard, Pro, and Max—priced between RMB 253,500 and RMB 329,900.
The YU7 comes with powerful performance and impressive range. The base Standard variant offers a CLTC-rated range of 835 kilometers, while the Pro and Max variants with all-wheel drive deliver up to 770 kilometers. Powered by Xiaomi’s HyperEngine V6s Plus, the Max variant produces 690 horsepower, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.23 seconds, and reaches a top speed of 253 km/h.
Packed with cutting-edge technology, the YU7 features NVIDIA’s Thor chipset, LiDAR, 11 high-definition cameras, and 12 ultrasonic sensors for advanced assisted driving. Xiaomi’s HyperVision panoramic display, triple Mini LED screens, and XiaoAI voice assistant further enhance the smart driving experience. The SUV also supports Apple CarPlay, Apple Watch controls, and UWB unlocking for iPhone users.
The YU7 is built with a robust steel-aluminum hybrid body, incorporating 2200 MPa ultra-high-strength steel for enhanced safety. Before launch, the vehicle underwent extensive testing across 10.62 million kilometers, in temperatures ranging from -41°C to 53°C. Currently, the SUV is available only in China, with pre-orders open via the Xiaomi EV app and WeChat Mini Program. International launch dates have yet to be announced.
