IONAGE, a digital platform for electric vehicle (EV) charging services in India, has announced the integration of more than 5,000 EV chargers from Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) into its system. This collaboration is expected to significantly enhance the availability and accessibility of public EV charging infrastructure across the country.
Vimal Kumar, CEO of IONAGE Technologies, stated that the integration would streamline user experience and further strengthen India’s rapidly growing EV ecosystem. He emphasized the company’s commitment to using technology to make EV charging simpler, more reliable, and more widely available to consumers.
According to the Federation of Automobile Dealers Association (FADA), EV adoption across all vehicle categories in India reached 7.8% in FY 2024–25. In line with the Indian government’s vision to achieve 30% EV penetration by 2030, IONAGE plans to enable over 100,000 charging points and support more than 10,000 small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) in entering the EV charging space by 2028.
Founded in September 2021, IONAGE began as an aggregator of public EV chargers and has since evolved into a full-service platform serving EV owners, charge point operators, manufacturers, fleet operators, residential societies, and businesses. Currently, the platform supports over 5,000 chargers from 18+ charge point operators, offering a unified, tech-enabled charging solution across India.
