Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) on Monday launched its first-ever Electric Vehicle (EV) Concept Store at Mantri Square Mall in Malleshwaram, Bengaluru. Alongside, the company introduced a new Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) Lite Plan for ACTIVA e: users, priced at ₹678 per month, aimed at enhancing accessibility to electric mobility.
The concept store offers an immersive experience through interactive displays showcasing Honda’s global innovations and electric mobility technologies. Key features include a central LED display, a history wall chronicling Honda’s milestones, and product zones featuring electric models like the ACTIVA e: and QC1.
A dedicated Safe Tech Zone allows visitors to explore Honda’s EV core technologies such as the PMS motor, hub motor, charger, battery system, and Mobile Power Pack technology. Customers can also witness live demonstrations of Honda’s battery-swapping capabilities via the Honda Power Pack Exchanger e: system.
Additional attractions at the store include a scale model of the Honda Jet, a Honda Electric Racing Go-Kart powered by swappable batteries, and the Honda Moto Compacto—a 19-kg foldable electric scooter with a top speed of 24 km/h and a 20 km range.
The newly launched BaaS Lite Plan is tailored for users with lower daily energy needs, offering 20 kWh of monthly usage for ₹678. For higher usage, the Basic Plan provides 35 kWh at ₹1,999, while the Advance Plan offers 87 kWh at ₹3,599 per month. Users exceeding the allotted energy are charged ₹70 per additional kWh under the Lite Plan, and ₹35 per kWh under the Basic and Advance Plans (excluding GST).
The ACTIVA e: is powered by two 1.5 kWh swappable batteries developed by Honda Motor Co., Japan, and managed by Honda Power Pack Energy India. The scooter delivers a range of up to 102 kilometers on a full charge as per Indian Driving Cycle (IDC) standards.
