VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) has entered into a strategic partnership with EV charging solutions provider Statiq to expand access to electric charging infrastructure for its electric truck and bus customers across India. The two companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to integrate over 8,000 Statiq charging points into VECV’s MyEicher fleet management app.
Under this agreement, Statiq will serve as the preferred supplier and installer of AC and DC chargers for VECV’s electric commercial vehicles. The partnership is set to benefit customers of Eicher’s electric truck and bus range, particularly the newly launched Eicher Pro X series.
Through the MyEicher app, VECV customers will now be able to access real-time data on charging station locations, navigation support, and pricing details across India. Additionally, both companies are planning to introduce promotional offers and special tariffs tailored for Eicher vehicle users.
Abhishek Chaudhary, Senior Vice President – Sales and Marketing at VECV, commented, “This partnership is a major step towards strengthening the commercial EV ecosystem in India. Through MyEicher, we aim to deliver a truly integrated solution to our customers.”
Statiq CEO and Founder Akshit Bansal called the partnership a significant step toward building an efficient and accessible EV charging ecosystem for commercial vehicles.
The collaboration will also include joint support services such as call center assistance, service ticket management, and maintenance. Statiq will be responsible for identifying optimal charging locations with adequate infrastructure and parking space for commercial vehicles.
Plans also include turnkey charging station projects—covering installation, operations, and maintenance—as well as shared infrastructure models, mobile charging units, and revenue-sharing arrangements with location partners.
VECV, a joint venture between Sweden’s Volvo Group and India’s Eicher Motors, was established in 2008. The company manufactures Eicher brand trucks and buses for over 40 countries, distributes Volvo vehicles in India, and produces engines for the Volvo Group.
Statiq, on the other hand, operates EV charging infrastructure in over 65 cities across India and offers access to multiple provider networks via its mobile app. The company has ambitious plans to set up 20,000 charging points by 2025 to meet the growing demand for EV infrastructure.
As India accelerates its push toward commercial vehicle electrification, the VECV-Statiq partnership arrives at a crucial time. With government policies and incentives supporting EV adoption and infrastructure development, this alliance is poised to play a key role in enabling the transition to cleaner, more sustainable transport solutions.
