UK Fashion Giant NEXT Opens First Standalone Store in India in Partnership with Myntra
Founded in 1982, NEXT is the UK’s largest fashion retailer with over 460 stores in the UK, 265 franchise outlets globally, and a digital footprint spanning 80 countries.

British fashion retailer NEXT has officially debuted its first exclusive brand store (EBO) in India, marking a significant milestone in its expansion strategy across the country. The launch is part of a strategic collaboration with Myntra Jabong India Pvt. Ltd. (MJIPL), the wholesale arm of Myntra, which holds licensed rights to distribute NEXT products and develop its retail presence through a franchise model.

The inaugural store, spread across 7,100 sq. ft. at Pavilion Mall in Pune, opens just ahead of India’s festive shopping season. Designed with modern British aesthetics, the store offers dedicated sections for men’s, women’s, and children’s wear, introducing Indian shoppers to NEXT’s signature blend of classic contemporary fashion, accessible pricing, and quality craftsmanship.

Founded in 1982, NEXT is the UK’s largest fashion retailer with over 460 stores in the UK, 265 franchise outlets globally, and a digital footprint spanning 80 countries. Its entry into physical retail in India comes after a successful online debut on Myntra’s platform in 2023, where the brand has seen steady demand and strong customer engagement.

"This is a pivotal moment in our partnership with Myntra," said a spokesperson for NEXT. "We’re thrilled to bring our full retail experience to India and connect directly with Indian consumers."

Alongside standalone EBOs, NEXT is also expanding through shop-in-shop formats within premium multi-brand retailers like Shoppers Stop, where 10 such outlets are already operational. Over the next five to six years, the brand plans to establish 50+ points of sale across key cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad.

Venu Nair, Chief of Strategic Partnerships and Omni-channel at Myntra, said, “Our collaboration with NEXT strengthens our premium offerings in fashion, especially in underserved segments like children’s wear. Partnering with Shoppers Stop further amplifies our reach and leverages their deep customer relationships.”

With a growing appetite for global fashion and a digitally savvy consumer base, India continues to be a high-priority market for international brands. NEXT’s offline debut, backed by Myntra’s distribution network and franchise strategy, aims to capture a larger share of this fast-evolving fashion landscape.
