In a move set to transform the way international travellers access foreign exchange, Thomas Cook (India) has partnered with quick commerce platform Blinkit to offer rapid doorstep delivery of its ‘Borderless Multicurrency’ forex cards.
Currently available in Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru, the service enables customers to receive pre-paid multicurrency forex cards within minutes. The cards are delivered blank and securely activated post a virtual KYC (V-KYC) process, managed entirely by Thomas Cook’s dedicated forex team in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
“This is a real game-changer for travellers with last-minute forex needs,” said Deepesh Varma, Executive Vice President – Foreign Exchange, Thomas Cook (India). “Quick commerce has redefined consumer expectations, and integrating it with foreign exchange was a natural progression. We aim to provide unmatched convenience and value through this innovation.”
Blinkit, which handles the last-mile delivery, will ensure the cards are dispatched swiftly, while Thomas Cook manages customer verification and activation. The entire process—from request to activation—is completed within an hour, the company said.
“To save travellers time and effort, we’ve enabled doorstep delivery of blank forex cards in partnership with Thomas Cook India,” said Anish Shrivastava, Senior Vice President – Revenue, Blinkit. “It’s a seamless blend of speed, convenience, and security.”
Thomas Cook plans to expand the service to other key Indian markets in a phased rollout.
The ‘Borderless Multicurrency’ card supports multiple global currencies, allowing international travellers to spend securely and efficiently, while avoiding the hassle of carrying cash or dealing with currency exchange abroad.
