Labour Ministry Partners with Zepto to Boost Urban Employment Opportunities
The partnership aims to create structured job opportunities for youth, women, and first-time job seekers through the government’s National Career Service (NCS) portal.

In a significant move to enhance urban employment avenues, the Ministry of Labour & Employment signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with quick commerce platform Zepto on Wednesday. The partnership aims to create structured job opportunities for youth, women, and first-time job seekers through the government’s National Career Service (NCS) portal.

Union Labour & Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, who was present at the signing ceremony, said the collaboration will help build a robust employment ecosystem by connecting job seekers with gig and full-time opportunities. As part of the MoU, Zepto has committed to posting 10,000 job openings over the course of the agreement.

"This partnership will open a new window of opportunity for young people and help Zepto tap into a dynamic talent pool," said Mandaviya. He also noted that the NCS platform has evolved into a major bridge between employers and job seekers, with over 52 lakh registered employers and nearly 7.5 crore vacancies posted since its inception.

Zepto Co-founder Kaivalya Vohra said the partnership would help the company offer thousands of gig and full-time roles while contributing to economic growth and youth empowerment.

“This is not just about hiring, but about building careers and creating economic momentum,” Vohra added.

Ministry Secretary Vandana Gurnani emphasized the importance of formal employment and social security, noting that the collaboration would further strengthen efforts toward skilling, job-matching, and career counselling via the NCS platform.

This initiative adds to a growing list of public-private partnerships fostered by the ministry. Over the past year, similar MoUs have been signed with companies such as Amazon, Swiggy, Rapido, and Quikr Jobs, collectively mobilizing nearly five lakh vacancies on the NCS portal.

Officials believe the partnership with Zepto will further accelerate access to secure, quality employment across urban India.
