Stanley Lifestyles Makes International Debut with First Store in Colombo
The move comes through a strategic partnership with Singer (Sri Lanka) PLC, a household name in the country’s consumer durables and furniture sector.

Stanley Lifestyles Limited, one of India’s largest luxury furniture makers, has taken its first step into international retail with the launch of a showroom in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The move comes through a strategic partnership with Singer (Sri Lanka) PLC, a household name in the country’s consumer durables and furniture sector.

The Colombo store will present Stanley’s premium and luxury furniture collections, expanding the reach of its flagship brands to shoppers in Sri Lanka for the first time. Over the next three years, the company plans to set up eight stores across the country, marking a structured entry into a new market.

Singer brings more than 140 years of retail experience to the partnership and runs over 400 stores and 1,200 dealer points across Sri Lanka, supported by a strong e-commerce presence. The company has also been voted “People’s Brand of the Year” for 18 consecutive years, giving Stanley immediate backing through an established, trusted distribution partner. The Sri Lankan luxury goods market, valued at about $1 billion, is seeing steady growth as spending patterns shift and more affluent shoppers look for global lifestyle products. Colombo, in particular, has emerged as a hub for premium home interiors, creating demand for design-driven furniture solutions. For Stanley, the partnership is intended to do more than sell luxury furniture. It positions the company to observe customer behavior in an emerging international market and prepare for expansion beyond India.

Sunil Suresh, MD said, “This marks a defining moment in Stanley Lifestyles’ journey as we step beyond India and enter international markets. Singer’s strong brand reputation and extensive retail network make it the ideal partner for our maiden global foray. Together, we aim to bring our design-led, ultra-luxury home solutions to customers in Sri Lanka. Beyond showcasing our craftsmanship, this will also serve as a launchpad for our broader international expansion strategy, giving us valuable insights that we can replicate in other global markets.”

Mahesh Wijewardene, MD of Singer said, “We are truly delighted to partner with Stanley India to introduce the prestigious SOFAS and MORE by Stanley concept store to Sri Lanka. This collaboration marks an exciting step in bringing world-class, high-end furniture solutions to our customers, reflecting our commitment to elevating lifestyles with quality and elegance.”

By entering Sri Lanka through an established retail leader, Stanley avoids the risks of a standalone international debut while securing exposure to a market eager for premium home solutions. As more luxury brands test opportunities in South Asian markets, Stanley’s Colombo showroom signals a retail-led expansion strategy that balances ambition with local partnerships.
