The 156-room hotel marks Sarovar’s third owned property after Hometel Chandigarh and Hometel Roorkee, reinforcing the group’s commitment to infrastructure-led expansion across key industrial corridors in India.
Designed with a strong focus on environmental responsibility, the hotel incorporates a wide range of green features, including solar roofing, rainwater harvesting, an in-house STP, purified water systems, energy-efficient lighting and HVAC, and a bottling plant to reduce plastic usage. Built using eco-sensitive construction techniques, the property reflects Sarovar’s shift toward future-ready, sustainable hospitality models.
“Sarovar Portico Sriperumbudur represents our most sustainability-driven hotel to date,” said Ajay K. Bakaya, Chairman, Sarovar Hotels. “It addresses the needs of modern business travelers while setting a new benchmark in eco-conscious hospitality.”
Speaking at the event, Federico J. González of Groupe du Louvre emphasized India’s strategic importance: “This opening reflects our shared commitment to high-growth markets and to developing hotels that are both commercially successful and environmentally responsible.”
Situated in Sriperumbudur, one of South India’s fastest-growing industrial zones, the hotel is positioned to cater to corporate travelers and business events, capitalizing on the region’s rapid development.
The hotel’s dining offerings include SPR Kitchen, an all-day restaurant serving Indian and international cuisine, featuring nutritionist-curated meals and the region’s first eco-friendly Bowl Meal concept. Chola Lounge, a tropical-themed bar, complements the experience with handcrafted cocktails and a relaxed setting.
With 7,245 sq. ft. of flexible event space, the hotel is equipped for both corporate and social functions. The 4,770 sq. ft. Summit banquet hall is the largest in the area, supported by venues like Senate, Crescent, and a dedicated Board Room with advanced AV capabilities.
