Amid reports of a potential stake sale, Lite Bite Foods has clarified that it is open to raising growth capital to fuel its next phase of expansion, while refraining from commenting on market speculation. The company said its focus remains on accelerating growth and strengthening its presence in the food and beverage retail sector.
Ranjit Paliath, CEO, Lite Bite Foods informs, "We do not comment on market speculation. However, at Lite Bite Foods we have grown to become one of India's largest India and Asian casual dining businesses, and are open to seeking growth capital for the next round of our journey."
Market speculation around Lite Bite Foods has intensified following reports that the company's promoters were evaluating strategic options, including the possible sale of a majority stake. While the company has acknowledged its willingness to raise growth capital for expansion, it has neither confirmed nor denied the reports.
The speculation also comes shortly after the departure of Rohit Aggarwal, Co-founder and Director of Lite Bite Foods, who stepped down last month after more than two decades of leading the company alongside Chairman and Co-founder Amit Burman.
Established in 2002, Lite Bite Foods has emerged as one of India's prominent food and beverage retail companies with a diversified portfolio of restaurant brands across Indian and Asian cuisines. Its brands include Punjab Grill, YouMee, Asia Seven, Street Foods by Punjab Grill, Hahn's Kitchen, Tres and Zambar, among others.
The company has a strong footprint across major Indian cities, including Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Pune, Kochi, Lucknow, Indore, Bhubaneswar and Ahmedabad. Internationally, it operates in Singapore, Washington, D.C., Abu Dhabi and Bangkok, while also managing multiple food and beverage outlets at airports across India.
Lite Bite Foods has maintained steady business momentum in recent years. According to Tracxn, the company reported revenue of Rs 735.8 crore in FY25, marking a 12 percent increase from Rs 659.8 crore in FY24.
While remaining guarded on reports of a potential stake sale, the company's willingness to explore growth capital underscores its focus on funding the next phase of expansion. Any future investment is expected to support portfolio growth, network expansion and a stronger position in India's rapidly evolving organised foodservice market.
