NueGo, India’s first electric intercity bus brand operated by GreenCell Mobility, has launched a new electric bus service connecting Delhi and Lucknow. The service is priced from ₹999 and covers the distance in approximately 10 hours. According to the company, this is their longest electric intercity route so far.
NueGo network is rapidly expanding across the country. Currently, the company operates over 300 electric buses across more than 100 cities in India, offering over 500 services daily. These buses can travel more than 250 kilometers on a single charge, even with air conditioning running in heavy traffic.
Each NueGo bus undergoes over 25 safety inspections before every trip, including mechanical and electrical checks. The buses are fully electric, producing zero tailpipe emissions, and are equipped with real-time GPS tracking accessible via the company’s mobile app. For safety, bus speeds are limited to a maximum of 80 km/h.
NueGo has introduced several safety features specifically for women passengers, including a 24x7 helpline, "Pink Seat" booking options, and continuous CCTV surveillance. All drivers must pass a breath analyzer test before every journey.
GreenCell Mobility CEO and MD, Devndra Chawla, stated that this service is part of the company commitment to providing sustainable and safe intercity travel in India. The buses also offer premium seating, trained staff, and access to airport-style lounges in select cities.
This launch follows NueGo recent successful Kashmir-to-Kanyakumari electric bus expedition, which tested the buses' performance across diverse Indian terrains.
NueGo is part of GreenCell Mobility broader initiative to bring electric vehicle technology to India's intercity bus market, offering a green alternative to traditional diesel-powered bus services.
