
Eastman Auto & Power Limited has signed a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Vande Bharat Electric Vehicles. As per the agreement, Eastman will supply lithium-ion batteries worth ₹50 crore annually to Vande Bharat EVs. This partnership marks a major step towards accelerating the adoption of electric three-wheelers and promoting green transportation in India.
Through this collaboration, Eastman will empower Vande Bharat’s e-rickshaw fleet with advanced battery technology, making EV adoption more accessible and affordable for commercial drivers and fleet operators across the country.
Established in 2006, Eastman Auto & Power Limited is one of India’s leading power solutions companies, specializing in e-mobility, solar energy, and energy storage solutions. With eight manufacturing units in India and a workforce of over 5,000 employees, Eastman has a global presence in more than 50 countries. The company is also India’s largest manufacturer of solar tubular batteries.
Vande Bharat Electric Vehicles, also known as Sahaniyanand E-Vehicles Private Limited, manufactures electric three-wheelers like e-rickshaws, e-carts, and e-loaders designed specifically for Indian conditions under the Government of India’s ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ and ‘Make in India’ initiatives.
