Global sportswear giant New Balance has ramped up its presence in Kerala with the launch of a new retail outlet at Forum Mall, Kochi—its second store in the city after Lulu Mall. The move underscores the brand’s growing focus on strengthening its retail and community presence across India.
The newly opened Forum Mall location is more than just a storefront—it’s designed to function as a brand experience hub, showcasing New Balance’s blend of heritage design, performance-focused collections, and iconic lifestyle offerings. To celebrate the launch, the company hosted an exclusive in-store event attended by local influencers and high-net-worth individuals, offering a preview of its latest collections.
In tandem with the store opening, New Balance also brought its community-first approach to life with its inaugural 5K run in Kochi. The event kicked off and concluded at Lulu Mall and drew over 100 participants ranging from amateur joggers to seasoned runners. The run highlighted the brand’s commitment to building inclusive fitness communities and marked its first such activation in the city.
“The launch at Forum Mall is part of our broader vision to expand our presence in cities that are rich in culture and have a growing passion for fitness,” said Radeshwer Davar, Country Manager, New Balance India. “It’s not just about adding new retail locations—we’re creating spaces that merge innovation, performance, and style while bringing people together through fitness and community.”
Davar also noted that the brand has more than doubled its retail footprint in India over the past year. The Kochi expansion reflects a dual strategy: increasing physical retail presence in high-footfall urban hubs and building brand affinity through local engagement initiatives.
By pairing premium retail spaces with grassroots activations like community runs, New Balance is positioning itself as more than a sportswear brand—emerging instead as a lifestyle and performance enabler for India’s fast-evolving consumer base.
