Omnichannel menswear brand KISAH has raised ₹35.9 crore in its first institutional funding round, led by Fireside Ventures, at a post-money valuation of ₹211 crore. The company plans to deploy the capital primarily towards expanding its retail network, alongside investments in supply chain, warehousing, technology and backend infrastructure, as shared on social media.
With 12 stores currently, the Kolkata-based brand is targeting a network of 100 outlets as it strengthens its offline presence. It reported revenue of ₹65 crore in FY26 and expects to cross ₹100 crore in FY27 while maintaining profitability.
“We are learning retail right now. We’ve had very good positive early signs for us. The idea is that we are using this money to create our playbooks, and then the retail expansion is something which should be funded by franchisees,” cofounder Yash Sarawagi said in media reports.
Founded in 2018 by Sarawagi, KISAH initially built its business through online marketplaces before expanding its direct-to-consumer (D2C) platform and entering physical retail. His sister, Yashwi Ladsaria, later joined as cofounder, followed by Saurav Kothari.
The brand sells through platforms such as Myntra, Amazon, AJIO and Nykaa. Its portfolio spans contemporary ethnic and occasion wear, targeting wedding guests and consumers beyond the traditional groom segment. The range includes kurtas and sherwanis, alongside contemporary styles such as bomber jackets, flared trousers and sneakers.
Positioned at the premium end of online ethnicwear, KISAH offers products at prices below those of traditional offline brands. According to Sarawagi, its products have an average selling price of around ₹4,000 on Myntra, compared with approximately ₹1,000 for the platform’s broader ethnicwear category.
Before its institutional funding round, the company had raised around ₹10 crore from angel investors, including Sagar Daryani, founder of Wow! Momo, and Apoor Salarpuria of the Salarpuria Group.
KISAH entered offline retail in 2025 with a store in Kolkata’s Gariahat. The outlet generated around ₹45–50 lakh during its initial partial year of operations, with annual sales subsequently reaching approximately ₹70 lakh, according to the cofounders. The company then opened its first flagship store in Bengaluru’s Indiranagar in September 2025, followed by an outlet at Hyderabad’s Sarath City in November 2025.
The brand now operates 12 stores across markets including Bengaluru, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Visakhapatnam. It plans to deepen its presence in Bengaluru while exploring markets such as Jaipur and Visakhapatnam for further expansion.
Retail is expected to become a larger contributor to revenue in FY27, accounting for 25–30% of the business. The offline segment is projected to grow four to five times during the year, while D2C currently contributes around 20% of overall business. Marketplaces account for the bulk of its online sales, while international markets contribute approximately 8–10% of revenue, with the US serving as its primary overseas market.
Over the next 12–18 months, KISAH plans to integrate its online and offline operations to build an omnichannel shopping experience. In the longer term, it aims to reach around 100 stores and ₹500 crore in revenue before diversifying into broader categories.
