Chartered Speed, in partnership with the Arunachal Pradesh State Transport Service (APSTS), has deployed 10 electric buses across key locations including Itanagar, Namsai, and Pasighat. The fleet was flagged off by Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein on June 5, 2025.
These 9-meter, air-conditioned electric buses are supported by strategically installed charging stations to ensure smooth operations, reduce downtime, and maintain consistent service efficiency.
Sanyam Gandhi, Whole-Time Director at Chartered Speed, stated, “Sustainable mobility should not be confined to urban areas. Our partnership with APSTS and the introduction of electric buses in Arunachal Pradesh is a step toward a cleaner, more inclusive transportation future. This initiative reinforces our commitment to accelerating India’s green mobility revolution.”
Chartered Speed is actively transitioning its fleet from internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles to eco-friendly alternatives. The company currently operates over 1,800 buses across Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, and Assam, serving more than 350,000 passengers daily with a workforce exceeding 4,800 employees.
In addition to its latest initiative in Arunachal Pradesh, Chartered Speed has also secured a contract under Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL) to operate over 900 electric buses in 13 cities across three states.
