DMart Parent Avenue Supermarts Appoints Lalit Ahuja As COO

Avenue Supermarts, the operator of DMart, has appointed Lalit Ahuja as its Chief Operating Officer (COO). Ahuja announced the new role via his Linkedin. In his new role at DMart, Ahuja will oversee the company’s operational strategy and execution as the retailer continues to expand its nationwide footprint.

Ahuja joins the retailer after a 10-year, 11-month stint at Zydus Wellness. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President – India and Sub Continent (Sales) from November 2020 to July 2026. Prior to that, he was Vice President – India and Sub Continent (Sales) from October 2019 to November 2020, and National Sales Head from September 2015 to September 2019.

Prior to joining Zydus Wellness, Ahuja was Sales Head – West at Apple from March 2014 to September 2015. Earlier, he served as National Sales Manager at Mars between April 2012 and February 2014.

Prior to that, Ahuja was associated with Dabur India Limited for three years and three months, serving as Zonal Manager – West from July 2006 to October 2008 and State Head – Punjab from August 2005 to July 2006.

He began his career with roles across Philips, Pepsi, General Mills and DCC, where he worked as Area Sales Manager – Key Account Development from June 1998 to July 2005, building expertise in sales, key account management and business development.
