BMW India has announced a uniform pricing policy for its flagship electric sedan, the BMW i7, eliminating regional disparities in vehicle registration costs across the country. Under this new initiative, customers can register their BMW i7 in any state without bearing the burden of registration charges, as the company will absorb those costs. The current ex-showroom price of the BMW i7 stands at ₹2.05 crore.
This new pricing strategy includes registration charges and GST (along with applicable compensation cess), but excludes Tax Collected at Source (TCS), other local taxes, and insurance. The offer applies exclusively to the BMW i7 and is valid across all authorized BMW dealerships in India.
Vikram Pawah, President and CEO of BMW Group India, stated that the company views electric mobility as a holistic concept and is committed to leading the luxury EV segment in India. He emphasized that uniform pricing promotes fairness for all customers, irrespective of their location, while encouraging wider adoption of electric vehicles.
The BMW i7 is the brand’s first all-electric luxury sedan, blending advanced electric drivetrain technology with signature luxury features. The vehicle includes BMW’s signature Interaction Bar, a curved display with Live Cockpit Professional, real-time traffic updates, and premium interior features such as Executive Lounge Seating with 42.5-degree recline, massage function, and seat ventilation.
Rear passengers enjoy an immersive experience with the BMW Theatre Screen, while ‘My Modes’ allows personalization of ambient sound, lighting, temperature, and suspension settings.
Technology-wise, the BMW ConnectedDrive suite offers BMW ID, MyBMW App, Digital Key Plus, Emergency Call, real-time traffic information, smartphone-based remote parking, and Amazon Fire TV integration. Driver assistance features include Cruise Control, Attentiveness Assistant, Parking Assistant Professional, and Reversing Assistant with Steering and Lane Control Assistant.
The i7 eDrive50 variant is powered by BMW’s fifth-generation eDrive technology, delivering 449 horsepower and 650 Nm of torque. The vehicle accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.5 seconds and offers an electric range of up to 603 kilometers as per WLTP testing standards.
BMW Group continues to expand its EV portfolio in India as part of its global commitment to electrification. The uniform pricing move addresses a longstanding challenge in India’s auto market, where varying registration fees often influence buyer decisions. By standardizing the cost, BMW aims to empower customers to choose dealerships based on service quality and convenience rather than location-based pricing.
