Global sportswear giant ASICS has deepened its footprint in India’s distance running scene by partnering with the NMDC Hyderabad Marathon 2025 as the official Sports Goods Partner. The marathon, held on August 23 and 24, drew over 28,000 runners, making it Telangana’s largest running event and a key fixture on India’s competitive running calendar.

In association with the Hyderabad Runners Society (HRS), ASICS powered the event with its performance-driven gear, reinforcing its long-term commitment to building a pan-India marathon circuit. The collaboration marks ASICS’ inaugural partnership with the Hyderabad Marathon, adding to its growing list of high-profile associations, including the TATA Mumbai Marathon, New Delhi Marathon, and TCS World 10K Bengaluru.

As part of the marathon festivities, ASICS showcased its latest innovations at the SportExpo held at HITEX Exhibition Centre on August 22 and 23, featuring the iconic GEL-KAYANO™ 32. Known for its legacy of stability and performance, the shoe incorporates ASICS' 4D GUIDANCE SYSTEM™ and PureGEL™ technology, offering runners superior support and cushioning.

The brand also presented a full range of performance apparel and accessories tailored for endurance running — including the ROAD Seamless SS Top, ROAD 5in Shorts, breathable Mesh Cap, and PED 3P Socks — all designed to help runners perform at their peak while staying cool and comfortable.

“India’s sports market is expanding rapidly, with marathons now contributing around 24% to its growth,” said Rajat Khurana, Managing Director, ASICS India & South Asia. “Our association with the NMDC Hyderabad Marathon represents a major step forward in strengthening our presence in the performance running segment and connecting more deeply with India’s passionate running community.”

Race Director Rajesh Vetcha echoed the sentiment, calling the 14th edition of the marathon a “benchmark event” that not only drew international elites but also pushed forward sustainability and social impact through charity partnerships. “ASICS’ presence added a new level of professionalism and scale to the marathon. We're proud to see the event grow into one of the country’s most awaited running festivals,” he said.

ASICS’ participation underscores its broader vision to inspire movement and build vibrant running communities across India. By equipping runners with innovation-led gear and fostering inclusivity, the brand continues to support athletes of all levels — from first-time runners to seasoned competitors.

With Hyderabad now part of its expanding marathon portfolio, ASICS is poised to play an even bigger role in India’s evolving fitness culture.
