Reliance Retail, India’s largest retailer, is aiming for 20% CAGR over the next three years, with plans to scale its FMCG business nearly eightfold to ₹1 lakh crore in five years. The company will also invest ₹40,000 crore to develop Asia’s largest integrated food parks, leveraging AI, robotics, and sustainable technologies.
Addressing the company’s AGM, Isha Ambani, Director of Reliance Industries, said the food parks will secure lasting cost leadership for the group, as part of its strategy to dominate the entire consumer value chain — from manufacturing to last-mile delivery.
Reliance Retail operates nearly 20,000 stores across India and clocked ₹3.3 lakh crore in revenue in FY25, processing 1.4 billion transactions. Alongside its physical presence, the company is expanding its digital and hyperlocal channels through JioMart, AJIO, and quick commerce services.
“Our online channels currently contribute a high single-digit share of retail revenues, but will grow to over 20% within three years,” Isha Ambani said.
Reliance’s consumer base now stands at 349 million, with significant traction in hyperlocal delivery, powered by dark stores and rich consumer data. The company expects around 20% of its topline to come from digital commerce channels.
The FMCG arm, Reliance Consumer Products Ltd (RCPL), is being demerged to become a direct RIL subsidiary. Within just three years, RCPL has achieved ₹11,500 crore in revenue, making it one of the fastest-growing FMCG players in India.
“Our near-term goal is to reach ₹1 lakh crore in FMCG revenue within five years. Long-term, we aim to become India’s largest FMCG company with a global presence,” Isha said.
RCPL has launched and acquired several brands, including Campa Cola, which has captured double-digit market share in several states, challenging established MNCs. Its daily essentials brand Independence has crossed ₹1,000 crore in sales.
The company has expanded into West Asia, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and is now exporting to West Africa, with plans to enter 25 countries in the next 12 months.
RIL Chairman Mukesh Ambani called Reliance Retail “one of the most impactful growth journeys globally” and said the company is now poised to enter its next phase of super growth.
