Realty Major Srijan Realty Steps into Organised Fashion Retail, Sets ₹500 Cr Expansion Roadmap
With the launch of ‘Srijan Style’, Srijan Group announced an initial investment commitment of over ₹500 crore to be deployed over the next three to four years.

Kolkata-based real estate developer Srijan Group on Tuesday announced its entry into organised fashion retail, signaling a strategic diversification into India’s rapidly expanding consumption-driven market.

The group plans to steadily scale Srijan Style into a nationwide chain, with expansion largely targeted at Tier 2, Tier 3, and Tier 4 cities, where rising disposable incomes and growing organised retail penetration are driving demand.

With the launch of ‘Srijan Style’, Srijan Group announced an initial investment commitment of over ₹500 crore to be deployed over the next three to four years.

Under a phased rollout plan, the company aims to open 10 stores in the first quarter and 50 stores by the end of FY26-27, Srijan Realty Director Keshav Agarwal informs. The entire investment will be from internal accruals, he said.

Chairman and Managing Director Shyam Sunder Agarwal said the company is targeting 200 stores pan-India initially, and 1000 stores in the long term.

The retail foray will commence in eastern India, led by a flagship store at Gariahat in South Kolkata. This will be followed by additional outlets in Bandel, Madhyamgram, Serampore, Bagnan, Sodepur, Murarai, and Asansol, before the brand expands into high-potential clusters nationwide.

Srijan Style aims to position itself as a ‘family destination’, offering affordable fashion and essential general merchandise through an organised, high-efficiency retail format.

Stores will average around 8,000 sq ft and are designed to optimise inventory productivity, operating leverage and store-level profitability.

The merchandise strategy will centre on high-volume, fast-moving categories priced between ₹99 and ₹1,999, with most offerings positioned below ₹999. The approach is designed to strike a balance between affordability, quality, and sustainable margins.

Agarwal said organised value fashion accounts for about 15 per cent at present and is expected to grow to 30–35 per cent by 2030, presenting strong opportunities across emerging markets.
