Malabar Gold & Diamonds, the world's fifth-largest jewellery retailer, has expanded its footprint in the United Kingdom with the launch of two new showrooms in Birmingham and Southall. The openings were officiated by brand ambassador and film actor Kareena Kapoor Khan.
The new Birmingham showroom, located in the heart of the city, spans 5,700 square feet — making it the largest Malabar Gold & Diamonds outlet in the UK to date. Both showrooms are designed to offer a premium shopping experience and feature an extensive range of over 30,000 jewellery designs, including 18K and 22K gold, diamond, and precious gemstone collections. Dedicated bridal collections and bespoke design services are also available.
The inauguration events were attended by key dignitaries and community leaders. In Birmingham, the ceremony was graced by the Lord Mayor of Birmingham, Councillor Zafar Iqbal MBE, and Indian Consul General Dr. Venkitachalam Murugan. In Southall, Ealing Mayor Councillor Anthony Kelly and MP Deirdre Costigan were present alongside senior executives from Malabar Gold & Diamonds.
Commenting on the expansion, MP Ahammed, Chairman of Malabar Group, stated:
“The UK continues to be a key growth market for us, and we are encouraged by the support extended to South Asian businesses by local authorities. These new openings mark a significant step forward in our strategy to become the most trusted and preferred jewellery brand internationally.”
Malabar Gold & Diamonds now operates four showrooms in the UK — in Birmingham, Leicester, Southall, and Green Street, London — with plans to launch additional outlets in Manchester and a third London location. Expansion into Ireland and France is also under consideration as part of the group’s broader European growth strategy.
Globally, the brand operates over 400 showrooms across 13 countries and maintains a strong commitment to corporate social responsibility, dedicating 5% of its profits to community welfare initiatives.
