Flipkart, owned by Walmart, is set to expand its quick commerce arm, Minutes, by adding around 800 dark stores this calendar year, effectively doubling its current network.

“Flipkart is aggressively expanding quick commerce, particularly in Tier-2 markets where its customer base is stronger and currently claims around 750-850 dark stores,” as shared on social media.

While Flipkart Minutes has seen strong expansion, its growth has progressed at a slower pace than initially anticipated. The quick commerce arm scaled to around 100 dark stores within nine months of launch and reached nearly 300 locations by April 2025.

Kalyan Krishnamurthy had earlier outlined plans to scale up to nearly 800 stores by the end of 2025. However, the company adopted a more measured approach, ultimately opening around 500–600 dark stores during this period.
