Bajaj Auto Ltd has claimed the top spot in India’s electric commercial vehicle segment as of April 2025. According to data from the Vahan portal, the company sold 5,506 electric three-wheelers under the L5 category, securing a dominant 36% market share.
This milestone comes less than two years after Bajaj Auto entered the electric three-wheeler space, a market already populated by established players. The success is largely attributed to the company's newly launched models—Bajaj GoGo, E Auto, and E Cargo.
Already a market leader in the internal combustion engine (ICE) three-wheeler segment with a 74% share in FY 2025, Bajaj Auto has successfully extended its reliability and brand trust to the electric vehicle sector.
The flagship Bajaj GoGo P7012, a passenger electric three-wheeler, offers a best-in-class range of 251 km per charge. Key features include a two-speed automatic transmission, full-metal body, increased passenger space, and advanced safety tech like Auto Hazard, Anti-Roll Detection, and Hill Hold Assist. The vehicle also comes with a five-year battery warranty and optional TecPac features such as remote immobilization and reverse assist.
“In just two months since its launch, the Bajaj GoGo has helped us secure 36% of the EV commercial market and 39% in the passenger segment. This reflects the GoGo’s superior performance and the deep trust Bajaj has built over the years,” said Samardeep Subandh, President – Intracity Business Unit, Bajaj Auto Ltd.
Bajaj Auto has sold over 21 million motorcycles across 100+ countries and remains India’s top motorcycle exporter. It is also the world’s largest three-wheeler manufacturer and the first Indian two- and three-wheeler company to achieve a ₹1 lakh crore market capitalization.
