Austrian Coffee Brand Coffeeshop Company Enters India, Plans Major Expansion
The Delhi launch serves as the first step in an ambitious plan to establish 100 stores across India by 2029.

The Vienna-born coffeehouse brand Coffeeshop Company has officially entered the Indian market with the launch of its first flagship outlet in Delhi, marking a strategic push into one of the world’s fastest-growing café markets.

Founded in Austria over 25 years ago, Coffeeshop Company combines classic Viennese coffee-house culture with a modern café-and-bar format. The brand’s entry into India is being executed through a partnership with Franchise India, an integrated franchise and retail solutions firm tasked with accelerating its growth across the country.

The Delhi launch serves as the first step in an ambitious plan to establish 100 stores across India by 2029, with the company targeting major metropolitan hubs such as Delhi, Gurgaon, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Ahmedabad as part of its initial rollout. This expansion is expected to position India as Coffeeshop Company’s largest market globally, surpassing its existing footprint in countries like Russia.

Coffeeshop Company’s hybrid café format blends premium coffee with a curated selection of cold beverages and bar offerings, providing a social space that caters to evolving urban lifestyles. India’s branded coffee shop sector has been witnessing rapid growth, driven by rising coffee consumption and an expanding café culture among younger consumers.

The brand currently operates in multiple international markets with over 100 shops and brings decades of expertise in roasting, beverage innovation and franchise support to the Indian market. Through its partnership with Franchise India, Coffeeshop Company aims to leverage local insights and franchising infrastructure to accelerate expansion while adapting its global offerings for Indian tastes.

Industry observers see this move as part of a broader trend of international café chains entering India to capitalise on robust demand for premium out-of-home coffee experiences — a segment that has expanded rapidly and is projected to see continued strong growth in the coming years.
