Shri Samba Venkat Ramiah (S.V.Ramiah), was a great visionary who wanted to serve the community at large and uplift of the down trodden.

Being a member from tailoring professional community he started trading exclusively in tailoring material and wanted to start a sewing machine factory and thus was born a sewing industry in south India in the year 1953.

Gradually, the family members were involved in the manufacturing and trading activity and the "VIDYA" brand has become a house hold name in tailor professionals and domestic use. "VIDYA" sewing machines have been designed and built so as to ease of operation with perfect sewing. "VIDYA" sewing machines are assembled by the trained fitters and thoroughly checked by experienced personnel at every stage and at various speeds so as to meet the accuracy, durability and sewing requirements as per IS 14769:2000.
