About Us:

The British Videogame Academy has been established to address the serious skills shortage in the videogames industry. The courses from the British Videogame Academy are designed with the help of actual videogame industry professionals.All the courses are intended to give the students a comprehensive foundation in the practical skills required to produce next generation videogames.

Diploma in Videogame Programming

This one year course is aimed at those who would like a career in videogame programming. During the course, students will learn Unity and videogame programming using C#. They will also get the opportunity to work on acommercialvideogame for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC during their Videogame Project.

Diploma in Videogame Art

This one year course is aimed at those who would like a career in videogame art. During the course,, students will learn Unity 3D and videogame art creation using Autodesk Maya and Adobe Photoshop. They will also get the opportunity to work on acommercialvideogame for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC during their Final Videogame Project.

Final Videogame Project

Another unique feature of the British Videogame Academy courses is the Final Videogame Project. This is available to all students who take the one year diploma courses or the three year undergraduate degrees. Unlike a generic, theoretical project offered by traditional universities and institutes, our final project is part of an actual videogame that is already in production.

This means that all students will get hands-on experience by working on a videogame that will be shipping worldwide. The videogame will be for the PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and smartphones.

Employment Cell

BVA has an active Employment Cell run by a UK-based recruitment agent. The Employment Cell maintains constant relations with hundreds of potential employers around the world.All graduates will receive a personal mock interview with a member of the Employment Cell. After this interview, graduates will receive tips on how to create their CVs and prepare for potential interviews.

Guest Lectures

One of the unique and compelling features of the British Videogame Academy courses is the international guest lecture series. These guest lectures are delivered by current games industry artists, writers, programmers and producers from Europe and N. America. Between them, our guest lecturers have shipped hundreds of games on dozens of gaming platforms including some of the earliest gaming hardware like the Atari 2600, Commodore 64 and Sinclair Spectrum ZX.

During these guest lectures, the students will be exposed to a vast array of cutting-edge and highly practical production techniques used to create AAA quality modern games. Students will get a thorough understanding of the highly specialised techniques used to create modern games in genres such as Racing, First Person Shooter, Role-Playing, Real-Time Strategy Third Person Action/Adventure.
