This premier designer collection is the first of many, which she plans to launch under her designer label in association with Chhabra 555. Each piece has been individually hand crafted by her keeping in mind the demands of the contemporary woman. Subsequently, our weavers and karigars have spent laborious time and effort to make these timeless creations. Over three months have been spent on making sure each piece attains the perfection which has been envisaged. These Lara Dutta - Chhabra 555 designs explore the richness of our heritage and showcase the saree as a true work of art. The designs are inspired by the myriad colours and cultures that present themselves across the Indian landscape. These qualities manifest themselves on interpretations that are unique in design, sophistication and functionality. The ensembles range from traditional Benarasi silks to contemporary net sarees; from delicate Lucknavi Chikankari sarees to flowing Jaipuri Bandhanis. The colour palette also encapsulates the designer’s muse, with extensive usage of hues of coral, red and midnight blue. It is but natural to evolve and be influenced by modern styles and demands, but our roots are firmly and proudly embedded in tradition.
