SquadRun, a mobile marketplace for crowdsourced job that enables businesses to access a smartphone enabled, intelligent workforce for executing small tasks, has raised an undisclosed amount of seed funding from some of the top entrepreneurs - Deepinder Goyal of Zomato, Zishaan Hayath of Toppr, Amit Ranjan of Slideshare, and Girish Khera of Scientific Animations.

Started in 2014 by Apurv Agrawal, Kanika Jain and Vikas Gulati, SquadRun is a gamified puzzle app that allows users to make money by completing simple tasks on their phone. The solution allows users to monetise down time, while providing businesses cost effective solutions to common operational problems.
SquadRun works on the principle that everyone has a certain amount of spare or down time every day.
“We mainly compete with in-house teams and BPOs [outsourcing companies], but our high quality distributed workforce, strong algorithms and workflows enable us to be much cheaper, faster, better and more flexible,” said Kanika Jain, Co-founder, SquadRun.
SquadRun’s mobile app is being used for Data moderation, tagging, categorisation, comparision, etc. In 6 months, SquadRun has worked with over 7000 users and more than 35 diverse businesses.
