Finance Minister, Pranab Mukherjee will be visiting London today for a dialogue on macro-economic policy issues.
Mukherjee will co-chair the dialogue with British chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne. This is the fourth such exercise being conducted by the two countries.
The economic and financial dialogue would focus on wide range of issues such as strengthening of G-20 and IMF surveillance, the Britain-India infrastructure partnership, global and domestic financial regulatory reforms and strengthening of financial sector reforms.
The talks would include a plan to strengthen partnership in the education sector and increase collaboration in the financial sector.
The Indian delegation comprises of R. Gopalan, Secretary of department of economic affairs; Kaushik Basu, Chief Economic Advisor of the Finance Ministry; and U.K. Sinha, Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Board of India.
