Union Minister Kalraj Mishra has said efforts are on to encourage the youth to set up units based on local material in the backward Bundelkhand area and eastern districts of the state.
"Efforts are on to open skill development centres to encourage people in the backward Bundelkhand and eastern districts of the state to set up units based on local material which could ameliorate their lot", the Union Minister of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) said.
Mishra said there are complaints of procedural problems being faced by entrepreneurs in setting up their units, issues related to labour laws or in getting NOCs.
To help simplify these processes, there is an effort to develop a single-window system, he added.
On dumping of Chinese products in the country, the minister termed this as a challenge but added that the government will look into the matter.
Stating that there is great potential in the MSME sector, the Minister said there is an important role of MSMEs in the country's economy as there are a total of 3.60 crore units and its GDP share is about 8 per cent.
Emphasising that the government is dedicated to the poor and the youth, he said there MSMEs could provide opportunities to the youth not having high education by helping them develop their skills.
He also said the MSME Ministry will work as per the slogan "berozgari se le kar swarozgar ki yatra" (the journey from non-employment to self-employment).
