
Piaggio Vehicles Pvt. Ltd. (PVPL), the Indian subsidiary of the Italian Piaggio Group, has launched two new electric three-wheelers under its Apé Electrik range — Apé E-City Ultra and Apé E-City FX Maxx. These models are designed to provide affordable, reliable, and eco-friendly last-mile mobility in urban areas.
The Apé E-City Ultra is powered by a 10.2 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery and offers a certified range of 236 km. It delivers peak power of 9.55 kW and torque of 45 Nm, with a top speed of 55 km/h and gradeability of 28%, making it suitable for hilly terrains and flyovers. The model also includes features such as climb assist, a 3 kW fast charger, digital speedometer displaying range and battery levels, and 4G telematics with live tracking, geo-fencing, and remote immobilization. It comes with a full-metal body and a 5-year or 2,25,000 km warranty.
The Apé E-City FX Maxx comes with an 8.0 kWh battery and offers a certified range of 174 km. It delivers 7.4 kW peak power and 30 Nm torque, with 19% gradeability. The vehicle uses prismatic cell technology for improved battery stability and includes energy monitoring features to enhance battery management.
Price-wise, the Apé E-City Ultra is priced at ₹3,88,000, while the FX Maxx is available at ₹3,30,000 (ex-showroom, India). Both models are now available at Piaggio dealerships across the country.
Company executives said that the new models are designed with the urban commuter in mind, offering long range, high reliability, and lower operating costs — contributing to India’s growing shift toward sustainable and electric mobility.
