Zeno Launches Emara Electric Motorcycle, Starting at ₹79,000

Bengaluru-based electric mobility startup Zeno has launched its first electric motorcycle, Emara, designed to compete in the 100cc–150cc commuter segment. The ex-showroom price starts at ₹1.19 lakh, while under the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model, the price drops to ₹79,000. For the first 5,000 bookings, Zeno is offering special introductory pricing: ₹1 lakh (standard) and ₹64,000 (BaaS).

Although the Emara was unveiled in New Delhi, retail deliveries are expected to begin by end of 2025. The bike is designed and developed across Zeno’s R&D centers in San Francisco and Bengaluru, and manufactured at its Manesar (Haryana) facility with a capacity of 600 units per month.

Founded two years ago, Zeno initially explored markets in Kenya, Uganda, India, and Bangladesh. The company raised $9.5 million in 2024 from investors including Lower Carbon Capital, Toyota Ventures, and Trifecta Capital, and is preparing for another funding round to support global expansion.

The Emara comes with two 2kWh swappable lithium iron phosphate batteries, each rated for 3,000+ charge cycles, and offers a payload capacity of 250 kg. A home charger is included, and Zeno is also investing in a battery-swapping ecosystem. It showcased a 10-slot RFID-enabled automated swap station in New Delhi.

Zeno will begin retail operations in Bengaluru, with plans to open six stores and over 100 swap stations before deliveries commence. The company will later expand to Delhi, Mumbai, and Pune. By end-2025, Zeno aims to scale up production to 50,000–70,000 units annually and achieve 100% CAGR growth in the next five years.
