Marking a decade in business, SMOOR Chocolates has launched a new lounge in Bengaluru’s HSR Layout, taking its nationwide outlet count to 75. The opening strengthens the gourmet chocolate brand’s presence in its home market and introduces an all-day dining menu alongside its chocolate and patisserie offerings.
Located on the ground floor, the 2,450 sq. ft. lounge has 48 covers, with indoor and outdoor seating. The outlet is designed to serve neighbourhood residents, corporate professionals and younger consumers seeking options for breakfast, lunch, casual meetings and evening dining.
Founded in Bengaluru in 2015, SMOOR began with a focus on introducing couverture chocolate to Indian consumers. Over the past decade, the company has grown from a single chocolate lounge into a multi-format business spanning Signature Lounges, cafés, kiosks, gifting counters, dark kitchens, online sales and corporate gifting.
The HSR Lounge features an all-day menu covering breakfast, small plates, dim sum, burgers, wraps, pasta, pizza, sushi, Asian bowls and main courses. Key offerings include Hoon Twun Dumplings, Chicken Schnitzel, Panko Fried Prawns with Garlic Mayo, Gochujang Cottage Cheese Burger, Mushroom and Tofu Dimsum, Ebi Maki Roll and Dandan Noodles.
Breakfast options include a Raspberry Greek Yogurt Bowl, Banana Pancakes and Kheema Pav. The expanded menu reflects SMOOR’s move to offer a broader dining experience while continuing to focus on its core categories of chocolate, desserts and gifting.
Vimal Sharma, Founder and CEO of SMOOR Chocolates, said, “Bengaluru is where our journey began, so opening the HSR Lounge in our anniversary year feels especially significant. With this space and our new menu, we are expanding the SMOOR experience into more occasions, from breakfast and lunch to evening dining and, of course, our signature world of chocolate.”
The new lounge is intended to serve as a neighbourhood destination that reflects changing dining and socialising preferences, the company said.
SMOOR’s growth strategy centres on product development, seasonal offerings and a dedicated research and development kitchen. Its portfolio spans handcrafted chocolates, bonbons, pralines, cakes, pastries, plated desserts, beverages, savoury food and curated gifting collections.
The brand combines European chocolate-making techniques with Indian craftsmanship and flavours. Its business model integrates physical outlets with digital channels, catering to occasions ranging from personal consumption and celebrations to corporate gifting.
According to the company, its network of 75 outlets and dark kitchens covers cities including Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune, Delhi NCR and Chennai, across multiple formats.
As SMOOR enters its second decade, the company continues to explore opportunities across food, hospitality and gifting. The HSR Layout opening also reflects a wider trend among specialist food brands towards expanding menus and developing formats that encourage visits beyond traditional product purchases.
Going forward, the company’s growth will depend on balancing its core chocolate business with its expanding food and dining operations while maintaining product quality and service consistency across locations.
