Sapphire Foods India Ltd, one of the country’s largest quick-service restaurant operators, has opened its 600th KFC restaurant in India, according to a social media update by the company’s official spokesperson handle.
In the post, Vikrant Vohra, President and CEO of Sapphire Foods’ KFC business, said it was an achievement he was proud of, both for what it means for the business and for the people behind it. “As my first major milestone as President & CEO of Sapphire Foods, this one is especially meaningful,” he said.
Vohra took charge of the KFC business on July 25, 2026, succeeding Deepak Taluja, who stepped down on July 24 after a decade with the company.
Vohra said reaching 600 restaurants was about more than store openings. “It’s about the teams who make each restaurant work, the operators who sweat the details and the people behind the scenes who keep things moving every single day,” he said, adding that much of this effort often goes unseen.
Thanking restaurant teams, operations colleagues, support staff and partners, he said the achievement belonged to them. He said the company’s focus would remain on “great chicken, great restaurants and great experiences for every guest, every time.”
Looking ahead, Vohra said there was more to build, more to learn and many more guests to serve. “600 is a milestone, not a finish line,” he said, signing off with a brand-style pun: “FRY-nally 600. Here’s to what comes next.”
Before moving to KFC, Vohra served as Executive Vice President and CEO of Sapphire Foods’ Pizza Hut business. Earlier in his Sapphire career, he oversaw KFC operations across Karnataka, Kerala and western India. He has nearly two decades of hospitality experience, having worked with The Park, Hyatt, Taj and Marriott International.
