Royal Enfield Begins Testing Flying Flea C6 and S6 in Ladakh
Royal Enfield is rigorously testing its upcoming electric bikes—Flying Flea C6, S6, and Himalayan Electric—in Ladakh’s challenging terrains. These retro-designed, technology-packed bikes are expected to hit the market soon.

Royal Enfield has taken its upcoming electric motorcycles—Flying Flea C6, S6, and Himalayan Electric—to the tough terrains of Ladakh for testing. Recent spy shots and official teasers shared by the company confirm that these models have now entered their final testing phase. This marks a significant milestone in Royal Enfield’s entry into the electric vehicle (EV) segment.

The Flying Flea C6 and S6 have been spotted during testing, featuring Royal Enfield’s signature retro-inspired design combined with modern electric technology. The C6, in particular, is drawing attention for its slim wheels, unique aluminum frame, and stylish look. The official launch of this bike is scheduled for the fourth quarter of the financial year 2025-26.

First showcased at EICMA 2024, the Flying Flea C6 marks the beginning of a new electric sub-brand for Royal Enfield. The bike features a vintage design inspired by the 1930s, including an aluminum girder-style front suspension, an articulating mudguard, and a magnesium battery housing. Other highlights include a classic round headlamp, a minimalist single-pod instrument cluster, and lean-angle sensitive ABS.

The Flying Flea C6 is equipped with a modern Vehicle Control Unit (VCU) that supports over 200,000 ride mode combinations and allows Over-The-Air (OTA) software updates. It will be available in both single-seat and dual-seat variants and can be charged using a regular 3-pin home charging plug.

Under the Flying Flea brand, the company is also developing another model—the S6 (a scrambler variant), although its official launch timeline has not yet been announced.

Alongside these, Royal Enfield also tested the Himalayan Electric in Ladakh’s high-altitude and rugged landscapes. This electric adventure tourer retains the tough, adventure-ready look of its petrol-powered sibling while featuring an advanced electric powertrain. The test bikes were seen with gold-finished USD front forks and a sturdy aluminum frame.

Royal Enfield CEO personally participated in the testing process. Ladakh’s harsh weather and extreme altitudes offer the perfect testing ground for evaluating battery performance, thermal management, and overall durability.
