INOX, India’s leading cinema exhibitor, has significantly expanded its premium footprint with the launch of a state-of-the-art 10-screen Megaplex at Sky City Mall in Borivali East, Mumbai. The new 1,372-seat facility is the latest addition to the company’s self-owned cinema assets and reinforces its strategic focus on high-traffic, metro-based retail destinations.
Spanning 43,500 square feet, the Megaplex forms the entertainment cornerstone of the newly opened one-million-square-foot Sky City Mall by Oberoi Realty. Strategically located near Devipada Metro Station and the Western Express Highway—just 17 kilometers from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport—the new complex aims to redefine the cinema-going experience in one of Mumbai’s fastest-growing suburban hubs.
The venue boasts two luxury Insignia screens, a cutting-edge IMAX with Laser auditorium, a 4DX screen, and six mainstream screens—all equipped with advanced laser projection and Dolby 7.1 surround sound. The IMAX theatre also features a proprietary immersive audio system and 4K laser projection, delivering enhanced contrast and vivid color depth.
Ajay Bijli, Managing Director of PVR INOX Limited, hailed the launch as a landmark for the brand. “The launch of our 10-screen Megaplex at Sky City Mall is a proud milestone in our journey to redefine cinema in India. The design reflects the mall’s contemporary aesthetic, with open foyers featuring pastel tones, metallic detailing, and fluted glass accents. Each auditorium is thematically styled: blue-black for IMAX, red-black for 4DX, and gold-blue for the Insignia halls. The premium Insignia Lounge offers an elevated hospitality experience, complete with an open kitchen, pool table, and curated art honoring Oscar-winning filmmakers.
