
Mahindra & Mahindra, now India’s second-largest passenger vehicle manufacturer, has announced a significant expansion in its production capacity to cater to the growing demand for SUVs and electric vehicles. The company is set to enhance its manufacturing capabilities in the coming years.
The company aims to increase its monthly production from 61,500 units to 85,000 units by FY26, which will push its annual installed capacity beyond one million units. Along with this, Mahindra is planning to establish a new greenfield manufacturing facility that will be operational by FY28.
Rajesh Jejurikar, Executive Director and CEO – Automotive and Farm Equipment Sectors at Mahindra, revealed that the production capacity for the 3XO and ROXX models will be scaled up by 9,000 and 10,500 units respectively. In addition, the company will unveil a new vehicle platform on August 15, supported by an added capacity of 1.2 lakh units per year at its Chakan plant.
Mahindra’s new platform will be built around future-oriented design and technology. While the exact location of the greenfield plant has not been disclosed, the company confirmed that the August 15 event will showcase a visionary platform, offering insights into upcoming models that reflect Mahindra’s long-term innovation strategy.
