Amazon India, FIEO Join Hands to Boost E-Commerce Exports for MSMEs
This partnership will jointly establish an e-commerce export task force to develop a policy and infrastructure roadmap to enable MSMEs to access global markets more effectively.

In a move aimed at accelerating e-commerce exports from India, Amazon India has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Federation of Indian Export Organizations (FIEO) to strengthen support for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) seeking to expand globally.

Under the partnership, Amazon and FIEO will jointly establish an e-commerce export task force that will focus on developing a policy and infrastructure roadmap to enable MSMEs to access global markets more effectively. The initiative will also include nationwide awareness campaigns and capacity-building workshops to help Indian sellers navigate the complexities of cross-border e-commerce.

“This collaboration is aligned with Amazon’s goal of driving $80 billion in cumulative e-commerce exports from India by 2030,” said Srinidhi Kalvapudi, Head of Amazon Global Selling India. “We are committed to making exports simpler and more accessible for Indian MSMEs.”

FIEO will play a key role in identifying and nominating high-potential exporters across categories such as handicrafts, home textiles, wellness products, and packaged foods. Amazon, in turn, will provide these businesses with support in areas such as onboarding, compliance with international trade regulations, and scaling their visibility on global marketplaces.

The partnership will focus on boosting strategic product categories including home décor, personal care, apparel, and toys. Both organizations also plan to build local offline seller communities to foster peer-to-peer learning and increase access to logistics, compliance, and marketing service providers.

“With this MoU, we are looking to help more Indian MSMEs tap into global demand using the e-commerce channel,” said FIEO officials, highlighting the potential to position India as a strong player in global online retail exports.

The collaboration is expected to create a more robust ecosystem for small exporters, enabling them to overcome traditional trade barriers and compete more effectively on international platforms.
