Quick commerce has seen a surge in high-value purchases, especially during festivals. Last year, cities such as Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi NCR, and Ahmedabad saw the highest number of gold and silver orders on Instamart. The 1 gram gold coin remained the most popular item.
Rival platforms like Blinkit and BigBasket also reported high volumes of precious metal deliveries during last year’s festive season, with some orders fulfilled in under 10 minutes.
The announcement comes amid record-high precious metal prices. On October 16, MCX gold prices hit ₹1,28,395 per 10 grams, while silver prices surged to ₹1,64,660 per kilogram — encouraging early purchases ahead of further increases.
